Amazing Oils magnesium for kids

Calm, rested kids and parents too.

Probably one of the best uses for Magnesium with children is to enable parents to get a good nights sleep.

Magnesium is known to naturally calm and aid sleep in children, babies and adults and it works very well if used as part as your regular sleep routine. It is the least intrusive and most effective natural remedy there is.

There is a lot of research about magnesium's’ calming influence on the body and it could be the solution you need to make sure that you’re all (baby too) getting a good restful sleep.

It is perfectly safe to use Amazing Oils on children and babies, however, we would suggest watering it down for the first few days of use by 50% or mixing it with a little coconut oil.

For best sleep results you should rub the oils into the tops of the feet, this works for adults and children too.

Other benefits for kids

The other benefits of Magnesium is crucial for childrens good health and development. All the benefits adults receive from having optimal magnesium levels benefit children too especially the support it offers to the immune system and muscle and nerve function, however during development the role of magnesium is also important.

Studies by Professor Steven Abrams and his colleagues at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston finds that “intake and absorption of magnesium during childhood are key predictors of total bone mineral content” and this is a good thing for kids.

Abrams continues “Lots of nutrients are key for children to have healthy bones. One of these appears to be magnesium. Calcium is important, but …may not be more important than magnesium”

Why supplements for kids?

The typical kids diet doesn’t give them the magnesium that they need.

Dr Caorlyn Dean (MD, ND, medical director of the Nutritional Magnesium Association.) says…

‘It’s harder for most kids to get enough magnesium from foods (dark green leafy vegetables, nuts, whole grains) than it is to get calcium, so it’s equally if not more important to supplement”

We know already from studies that up to 75% of adults are magnesium deficient and this might be an even greater number for kids given their typical diet.

Kids diets often contain white sugar, white bread, white rice and other processed foods and the phosphates in sodas, for instance, bind to magnesium making it unusable. Foods high in saturated fat reduce magnesium absorption in your intestines and a diet high in sugar basically tells your kidneys to excrete more magnesium from your body.

We all want our kids to eat healthy, we’re all also realistic enough to know that this is not always possible, we also know that many kids are reluctant to take tablets too and so transdermal (via the skin) supplementation is an ideal option for parents who wish to keep their children in optimal health.
